(Lander, WY) – On January 4th the two newly re-elected Fremont County Commissioners Larry Allen and Jennifer McCarty were sworn in by Judge Conder at the Fremont County Courthouse.
This is Allen’s 3rd term representing District 2, and McCarty’s 2nd term representing District 5. Looking ahead to this year, both shared concern for big items like the budget, and ambulance contract expiring.
“I enjoy it,” Allen said about why he has gone for re-election. “I think I can make a difference.”
McCarty shared, “I just want to do a good job, and watch over the taxpayers’ dollars to make sure we are using it wisely.”
Both of them also shared what prompted their initial run for the position.
“I thought I could make a difference,” Allen explained. “I wasn’t getting representation where we live and I thought it was time to maybe help the rest of the citizens.”
“A few years ago, I just felt a call to serve,” McCarty noted. “I had been around politics for quite a while. I just really, really wanted to do this job, and I love it. It is the most diverse job I’ve ever had.”
McCarty also shared this is her last term, having promised in the very beginning she would only run for two terms.
Also, sworn in on January 4th were David Bennett and Rick Lee, both re-elected Dubois Town Councilmembers. Click here for more info.
