    Raymond Aloysius McKing Little Owl

    On January 14, 1991, Raymond Aloysius McKing Little Owl was born in Riverton, Wyoming to Rita Joyce Willow and Peter Lynn McKing. He was 29 years old. He is an enrolled Northern Arapaho. He is of the N. Arapaho, Mandan and Arikara descent.  He begins his journey home at the Casper Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming on June 7, 2020. It was Raymond’s desire to be cremated.

    Raymond grew up in Arapahoe, Wyoming. He went to school at Arapahoe School.  Raymond was enrolled at the Riverton Alternative High School, although he only attended briefly. He graduated from the GED program at CWC in 2013. Raymond enjoyed playing his guitar and playing darts. He was in the NDA dart league for seven years. Raymond work at several places in Riverton, including Subway, Wendy’s, Burger King and several private contractors in and around Riverton

    Raymond is known by Primo by his friends and family since he was 9 years old. He loved listening to Winnie the Pooh stories from his sister. His mother said it took the entire village to raise that boy, he had many babysitter’s. His aunt Becky has many fond memories from during the time she watched him as a toddler. He ran around their property with the other family children that Becky babysat including Kyle and Shawn Yellowplume and his cousins Philma Willow and Perci Runningshield.  Raymond’s Aunt Marcene, who was there to help from birth and he affectionately called “Big Mom” and she referred to him as “Big Son”.  She was always there for him whenever he needed a hug, a shoulder to lean on and for everyday life.  He helped his sister, Joline get her GED at an adult program by being her baby that helped single mother’s. His father figures included his Grandpa Al, for a short time his stepdad Alfred Friday. Most importantly the man he considered his Dad; Douglas Countryman-Two Crows. He had a special bond with his cousins and nephews and nieces’ that he took as brothers and sisters; Shaycrea Friday; Ben, Ira, and Perci Runningshield; James ‘JD’, Katie Large, Bendetta Whiteplume; Sonny, Randy, Justin, Kandi and Jody Vanfleet. Jody was the first to start calling him Primo.

    Shortly after Douglas’s death Raymond and his Mom moved to Riverton.  At this point, he began to make friends outside of the family that he considered a part of his family. He had a hard time finding his path in life and the friends and family he created helped to fill his love and time. He found relatives that he didn’t know were relatives and brought them closer to the family; Naveda, Nykomia Whiting, and Stallone Trosper, he took their Mother Doreen as his mother. He loved Niki’s kids as his own Sabre, Paola and Gordan Whiting-Ocon as his own. There are many people that was touched by his kindness and genuine love. He had a special place in his heart for Lianna and Jordan Bell, the children of his friend of 13 years Jenelle Reyes.  He also took her sister Veronica, ‘Ronnie’ as his own sister. He met his companion Mallori Lashelle Shakespeare in 2017 and whom he stayed with upon his death.

    Primo touched so many lives that we are unable to share, please do not think that we have forgotten you.

    He is survived by his mother, Rita Willow of Arapahoe and his father Peter McKing of Bismark ND. His aunts include Katherine Vann, Rebecca Bishop, Marcene Willow, and Monika Star-Mcking of Wisconsin.  His uncles are Thomas Willow and Verne Willow. A cousin Mark Little Owl of Bismark ND. His brothers are Joe Alberts Jr. and Henry Alberts, Samuel Friday. His sister is Joline Alberts, Mariah and Silvia Friday. Raymond has many cousins, Aunts and Uncles on the Wind River Reservation. Families of the Willow, Rider, Alberts, Vann, Pineda, Morrison, Vanfleet, McKing, Little-Owl, and Stars of ND.

    He was given the middle name of Aloysius from his grandfather, Aloysius Willow, Sr., who preceded in death 9 months ago. Grandmother Nancy Standing-Willow. Aunt Carol Ann, Uncle Donald. Cousin Frances Rider, Theresa L. Vann, Titus Morrison, Verdale Large. Nephew’s Sonny and Randy Vanfleet. His paternal grandparents Raymond Little Owl-McKing Sr, Marlene Star McKing, Uncle Raymond Little-Owl Jr. Aunt Patricia Ray McKing.
