    Raiders Roy Peck Champions

    The Riverton Raiders won the annual Roy Peck Tournament at Roy Peck Field over the weekend with a 3-0-1 record. The Raiders opened play on Saturday with a pair of early finishes in 10-run wins over Rawlins and Green River, with both scores 10-0.

    Sunday morning they led the Lovell Mustangs 1-0 early but fell behind later in the game before tying the contest at 4-4.

    Since both teams were advancing to the championship game of the wooden bat tournament, they called it a draw.

    The championship game was a classic with Riverton coming from behind for a 3-2 win over the Mustangs.

    Riverton trailed 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh with Brayden Baker and Beau Anderson on the corners. Anderson stole second base to put both runners in scoring position

    Ty Martin stepped up to the plate with two outs and drove a line drive deep into right field for the walk-off game-winner.

    The Class A Legion Raiders are 12-4-1 overall on the season with two of those losses coming in the opening weekend of the season against Lovell. The Raiders have won eight of their last nine outings with the tie against the Mustangs.
