Prom finishes first in CWC golf tourament; Rustler men take 2nd overall

CWC hosted it’s Spring Golf Tournament on Thursday and Friday of last week at the Riverton Country Club.  Both the men’s and women’s teams finished well at home.

Dawson Ritt was the low man for CWC shooting a two day total of +4 148 which tied him for 5th place.  Teammates, Jorden James and Cameron Carter helped the men’s team, as the two of them finished in the top 10.  The men’s team finished 2nd overall, following EWC.  “We had a good tournament this week.  Three guys finishing in the top 10 is really good.  Dawson, Jorden and Cameron have all been pretty solid this year and James and Christian have been playing really well, too, said” Coach Holgate.  The men’s team is in a dog fight with a team from Arizona to get a spot at Nationals in Melbourne, FL.  The Rustler men are currently 3 shots ahead of them going into their last week of play.

Sam Prom was the top finisher in the ladies tournament, winning her 4th tournament of the year.  She is the individual leader in our conference going in to the last tournament of the Spring season.  Sam finished the tournament with a 78-83 161 just ahead of teammate, Mason Jacobson, who finished with a two day total of 165, good for 2nd place.  Nicholynne Garbutt finished 3rd followed by Alexis Cornell 6th, and Kaylee Smith in 8th.  “Samalie had a very good tournament, she has also been very steady this year.  I like where the ladies are right now going into the National Tournament.  We need to use the next few weeks to refine some things and the ladies will be ready to go.  Kaylee Smith has been dropping her scores every week and is very determined to be in the mid 80’s for Nationals.  Great work Kaylee!!” -Coach Holgate<
