(Fremont County, WY) – It was reported earlier that High Plains Power was “experiencing a system-wide outage west of Riverton to Dubois,” resulting in a number of Fremont County residents being left without power, as well as various closures.
High Plains Power Announced on their Facebook page that much of the power had been restored by about noon, but was still experiencing issues in the Burris/Crowheart/Dubois area.
A High Plains Power representative contacted County 10 around 3:00 PM, informing us that there was fault discovered in a transmission line that caused equipment to fail at the substation, and upon being fixed power was restored to most of the Riverton/Lander/Pavillion areas.
However, as crews were energizing the line, another fault was discovered, causing issues with the transmission line from Pilot Butte to Dubois.
Crews are working diligently to find and isolate the issue for those areas.
