Podcast: Dave Dravecky, Major League Baseball pitcher and motivational speaker

(Riverton, WY) – Former Major League Baseball pitcher Dave Dravecky joined Jerrad Anderson on the County 10 Podcast this week.

Dravecky played for the San Francisco Giants from 1982-1987 and the San Diego Padres from 1987-1989.

In 1988, Dravecky underwent surgery on a cancerous tumor in his arm. Dave made his return to the pitching mound in 1989. That season, Dravecky threw what is now known as “The Pitch Heard Round The World.” His humorous bone snapped during the pitch, causing Dravecky to collapse on the field. After a doctor examination, it was determined that Dave’s cancer had returned and he needed his pitching arm amputated, ending his career.
