Multiple reports have been filed over the last few weeks about counterfeit $5 bills circulating Fremont County, in particular, Riverton.
Also, our neighboring county recently reported counterfeit $100s with “a serial number of LGQ03229158” that have been found circulating Thermopolis. Along with, “$5 bills that have been bleached and altered to appear to be $50 bills. These bills will pass the pen marker test as they are made on the real paper,” according to the Thermopolis Police Department.
If you suspect you have received counterfeit money, it is recommended you contact your local police department to report it as soon as possible.
