    Phone scam reported by local electric companies

    (Fremont County, WY) – High Plains Power shared today, May 20th, several reports of scam phone calls have been making the rounds with both their customers and Rocky Mountain Power customers.

    The callers are trying to scam payment from customers by saying their power is going to be shut off in 30 minutes and demanding over-the-phone payment information.

    “Utility companies don’t demand banking information by email or phone,” High Plains Power said in their announcement. “And they won’t force you to pay by phone as your only option.”
