Perfect conditions Saturday for 37th Riverton Rendezvous Hot Air Balloon Rally launch
(Riverton, Wyo.) – The morning could not have been any better. Clear skies, a light breeze, and an enthusiastic crowd of onlookers, and 20 hot air balloons that filled the sky.
The Saturday launch of the 37th annual Riverton Rendezvous Hot Air Balloon Rally went off without a hitch. In fact, wind conditions were such that several of the balloons were able to return to the launch field and land after giving their sponsors and guests a nice lift above the town. Today, the balloons headed off the northwest from the launch field at Central Wyoming College, then drifted back to the west past the college, and then back to the east again.
The event will be repeated Sunday morning at sunrise.
Other activities going on today include the Rocky Mountain Rebels Car and Bike show on the front lawn at CWC, a Rug Rats Carnival at the same location, a balloon glow tonight around 8:30 p.m. at the launch field and, at dark, the annual fireworks show.
