Pedestrian bridge on All Our Relations pathway has been closed… Again
A pedestrian bridge has closed for the winter along All Our Relations Pathway south of Riverton.
The bridge is located at the pedestrian pathway where it crosses the Little Wind River between the City of Riverton and Beaver Creek Housing.
Wait… I think I’m having déjà vu
This isn’t the first time they’ve had to close the bridge. Last February ice buildup underneath the bridge damaged one of the piers, causing walkers to have to find a new path until October.
The detour required pedestrians to cross the Little Wind River on the existing Wyoming 789 highway bridge. Bridge was deemed safe again in October, then quickly closed yet again due to the same problem. Would expect nothing less from a Wyoming winter!
“Ice reached eight inches in depth at the bridge piers this week. For safety’s sake, the bridge is being closed today for the winter,” Pugh said. “We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work toward permanently fixing the pedestrian bridge over the Little Wind River.”
Pedestrians, for now you can cross the Little Wind River on the existing Wyoming 789 bridge. But be safe out there and wear bright colors if walking at night!
We’ll keep you updated when the bridge is safe to reopen. But don’t get your hopes up this winter.
