Paws Pet of the Week: Meet Pepper!

“Our sweet Pepper or “Pepperoni” is a 2 year Heeler mix. She came to us when her owners decided they no longer wanted her while she was at the Vet getting spayed. We were contacted about taking her in and we were able to.

She has been with us for several months now. She absolutely adores people of all ages and is really gentle with toddlers.

Her one drawback is she isn’t good with other dogs. She was a breeding factory before she got spayed and she just won’t let other dogs greet and sniff her. She can walk with them in groups but closer contact, she doesn’t encourage them at all.

We have a group graduating from the Honor Farm on June 18th and we are considering sending her just to get her out of the Shelter environment. She will learn basic obedience, crate, and leash training, and they will slowly introduce her to other dogs and hopefully help her overcome her anxiety of other dogs greeting her.

If you would be interested in adopting her but would like to go ahead and let her receive her training, you can fill out an application that will hold her for the 8 weeks. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and dewormed.”

Paws for Life Animal League in Riverton’s lobby is now open and the schedule is Tuesday through Friday 12 to 5 pm, Saturday, 10 to 1 pm, and closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Stop by if you would like to meet Pepper, or call 857-6002 to schedule an appointment Tuesday through Saturday. You can also message their Facebook page to set an appointment up for a meet and greet. She would love to see you!

Paws want to give a huge shout-out to everyone who supported them at the bake sale last weekend. They raised significant funds to help support their efforts.

    Thank you!
