Efforts in Fremont County to crack down on shoplifters continue.
Over the last several weeks, the City of Lander and City of Riverton have both hosted community seminars on how to stop and prevent shoplifters. The meetings have been open to anyone in the community and several law enforcement officers and business owners have attended.
On Tuesday two minor shoplifting incidents were prevented at Mr. D’s grocery store on Lander’s Main Street.
At 12:49 p.m. a male subject attempted to steal a $17 bottle of alcohol from the liquor store. The man was confronted by store employees and left the bottle behind before fleeing the store. At 4:12 p.m. a 25-year-old man was arrested after attempting to shoplift $10 worth of merchandise from the grocery store.
Another anti-shoplifting seminar is set for Wednesday evening.
