Pain and Injury Care with Telehealth at Fremont Therapy Group

The COVID-19 pandemic seems to have stopped much of the world. One thing that the virus has not stopped is pain and injury. Maybe you were seeing your PT when activity restrictions were issued. Maybe you’ve been having more pain and soreness in your back or neck because of all the time spent in front of the computer working at home, or maybe you hurt yourself doing yard work or exercising to relieve stress. How do you get the care you need without putting yourself or others at risk during this time of social distancing?

To help our patients during this time, Fremont Therapy Group and Rocky Mountain Sports & Physical Therapy are utilizing Telehealth technology. This secure platform allows our licensed physical therapists to assess your condition and, in most cases, provide treatment from the comfort of your own home via computer or smartphone.

We also offer free consults as an easy way to get information if you’re hurt and have questions about what is happening or what you should do next. In Wyoming, we have the ability to seek physical therapy directly, before seeing a physician. We may suggest a follow up with your physician or recommend additional diagnostic testing, but if physical therapy is appropriate, we can schedule an evaluation appointment. Many insurance companies are waiving cost-sharing responsibilities during this crisis.

The US Department of Homeland Security and Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon has declared Physical Therapists essential infrastructure workers because PT’s play a key role in keeping people they can help out of doctor offices and ER’s. This frees up medical teams to treat those impacted by COVID-19 and limits the exposure of those seeking physical therapy care.

If care is most appropriately provided in the clinic, we are able to do so in a manner that is consistent with CDC guidelines, as we operate in the largest facilities in the community, each having up to 10 private treatment rooms and up to 7500 square feet of treatment area. This allows us to continue to provide individualized, one-on-one care to each of our patients, either in isolation or with the recommended 6 or more feet of individualized space.
