Eastern Shoshone Recovery Program moves online

FORT WASHAKIE, WY – We are living in unprecedented times and more than ever, our people need to know that there is help available and that we are still open and here for them. The Eastern Shoshone Recovery Program, like so many others, has had to close our doors but that does not mean we are closed to our clients and others. Although we cannot currently meet in person, we are available digitally. We are making this move intentionally and to be one hundred percent available to our people, especially those with the greatest needs. We believe that our solutions are in our culture and we seek to continue this mission, one step at a time.

We have recently launched our new Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/shoshonerecovery, and invite those struggling with addictions, their families, and loved ones as well as community partners to join. We hope to continue to engage and offer resources throughout these turbulent times.

Other services they offer during social distancing include online counseling and referrals to vital resources.

We are also excited about charting new digital territory with our app, “Path To Wellness”. With our partners at the University of Wisconsin’s Center for Health Enhancement Systems Studies, we will be launching a pilot program for our clients in early May. This invitation-only app will provide a safe community for those struggling with addiction and links to important resources and information. Those who are interested in joining us on this project are encouraged to contact the Eastern Shoshone Recovery Program. The funding for the app and related programs has been provided through the Wyoming Department of Health.

“We want our people to take their rightful place in the circle,” Kellie Webb, ESRP Director explained as she described the innovative program. “We will be using our cultural teaching and the Red Road of Wellbriety to help those struggling with addictions, especially while we are experiencing the devastating effect of social distancing and being housebound in unhealthy environments.”

For more information about the services and programs offered through Eastern Shoshone Recovery Program, please call 307-335-1169. We will continue in our mission to serve our community in any way possible.
