Between 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, a one-vehicle accident occurred in front of Aspen Park Elementary School in Riverton.
The vehicle appeared to drive over a curb and into a barrier holding a large flag or light pole. The vehicle had significant right front end damage.
Riverton Police Department Captain Todd Byerly told County 10 that there were two occupants in the vehicle. Both were checked by EMS with non-life threatening injuries, however the accident was caused by a medical issue.
The accident was a medical issue that resulted in the accident. The report is pending but the driver and occupant of the vehicle were checked out by EMS. I do not have any further details at this time. – RPD Captain Todd Byerly
The accident caused minor delays for some traveling to and from the school during the busy “drop-off” time. Guardian EMS and the Riverton Police Department both responded.
