One dead in vehicle rollover near Pinedale

(Sublette County, WY) – There was a single vehicle rollover on the evening of Wednesday, August 18th that resulted in one fatality, according to a Wyoming Highway Patrol preliminary report.

The driver has been identified as 39-year-old Wyoming resident Matthew Letsinger.

The truck was travelling eastbound on WY-353 near mile marker 1, when it exited the south side of the roadway and struck a delineator post.

The driver overcorrected towards the roadway and accelerated the vehicle, causing hard spinning of the rear tires, then traveled back onto the roadway and began to rotate sideways, striking another delineator post.

At that point, the truck crossed both lanes of travel, exited off the north side of the roadway, flipped, and rolled multiple times.

The report states there was no seatbelt in use.

This is the 72nd fatality on Wyoming’s roadways in 2021 to date, compared to 77 in 2020, 105 in 2019, and 67 in 2018.
