27-year-old Gabriel Villalva of Greeley, Colorado pleaded guilty Thursday to disorderly conduct and foot traffic on a thermal area in Yellowstone National Park.
The man went viral after a video showed him walking very close to the Old Faithful geyser in September. 5 days after the incident, Villalva was arrested in Cheyenne after a police chase ended with his vehicle crashing and catching fire.
Gabriel waived his preliminary hearing and remains in jail on a $10,000 cash bond.
His arraignment is still to be determined. As part of his guilty plea, he’ll be banned from both Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park for five years.
