The charming town of Dubois sits in the Wind River Valley, surrounded by mountains, raging rivers, and crystal blue lakes. Its relaxing setting only enhances the many exciting events happening there and on August 22nd there’s no place you’d rather be!
Plan to fly or drive to Dubois Municipal Airport and spend the day or weekend, as ‘aviation awareness and education’ is the theme of the day’s FREE event.

A Hot-Air Balloon will feature early morning tethered rides from 6:30-7:30 a.m. (weather permitting); you can sign up the evening before in Town Park.
An assortment of personal and commercial service aircraft will be on display for all to see, as well as other educational aviation products/services.
A professional Balloon Artist will wow you with balloon creations – and winners of a month-long art contest will be announced and artwork displayed at the Dubois Library. There is still time to enter! Pick up your coloring sheet at the Dubois Library or call 307-455-2557. The contest is for students from Pre-K to 12th grade and prizes will be awarded in each of the 4 age divisions. Submissions are due before 5:00 pm on August 14th. For more information, click here.
No need to worry about food. The Kiwanis Club of Dubois will host a ‘Flying FlapJack’ Pancake Breakfast, complete with all the fixin’s and 6 Gun Kettle Corn & Concessions Food Truck from Fremont County will serve up tasty lunches and snacks.
Youth from ages 8-17 can sign up for a free airplane ride with local licensed pilots. Bring your little ones and give them an adventure they won’t forget!
Because there is a great need to promote aviation throughout the state of Wyoming, the Town of Dubois invites you to join our community for this inaugural event!
