    No injuries sustained in South Pass vehicle fire yesterday

    At around 11:30 am on August 5th, a vehicle fire was reported between Red Canyon Road and Limestone Road on WY-28 (South Pass). “No injuries were sustained at the incident,” shared Fremont County Fire Protection District’s Lander Rural Fire Chief Trent Jones.

    Traffic on WY-28 was stopped in the area until about 1:00 pm. While the exact cause of the vehicle fire was not shared today, Chief Jones did share the following.

    A pickup truck pulling a 5th-wheel camper ignited yesterday on South Pass, spreading fire to the surrounding grass. Firefighters from Fremont County Fire Protection District’s Lander Rural and Atlantic City fire battalions, along with the Bureau of Land Management, were able to contain the fire at approximately 1 acre. Additional assistance on the scene was rendered by the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office and the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
