    No injuries in early Sunday morning Brooks Lake Lodge fire

    The historic Brooks Lake Lodge, located about 28 miles northwest of Dubois, caught fire early Sunday at 2:32 a.m.

    The Dubois Fire Department has provided the following information about the incident,

    Dubois Fire Department responded to a report of a Structure Fire at Brooks Lake Lodge, 30 miles West of Dubois. With an extended response time due to the location, first arriving units found heavy smoke showing from the attic on the North End of dinning room and bar area of a large log construction commercial building. Firefighters attacked the fire from interior and cut vent holes on the roof.The fire fighting activity continued for several hours. The Historic building was saved, but with moderate damage to the roof, dining room Ceilings and Sitting Room Ceilings. 15 Guest were staying at the lodge at the time of the fire, all guests were evacuated safely with no injuries. Damage is estimated at about $300,000. There were two minor injuries to Firefighter. The fire is currently under investigation by Wyoming State Fire Marshals Office
