News report for June 15th Fremont County Commissioners’ meeting

(Lander, WY) – The Fremont County Commissioners convened on Tuesday, June 15th, for their regular meeting.

Meeting highlights include Gabriel Moler being selected as the recipient of the renewal County Commissioner Scholarship, a Dubois maintenance contract award to T-Y Excavation, and the proposed planning department fee schedule and transportation department access road and easement fees were approved to take effect July 1st, 2021.

8 individuals were also named to various County board positions, including: Michael Zirbel and Joanna Kail for the Fremont County Museum Board, Robert Scheidemantel, Kristen Ressler, Walt Geis, Andrea Dockery, and Don Reynolds for the Fremont County Recreation Commission, and Kathy Blair for the Fremont County Historic Preservation Commission.

The Commissioners’ office has released the following news report from this meeting:

  1. A FISCAL YEAR 2022 CONTRACT FOR SERVICES TO VICTIMS OF CRIME BETWEEN THE STATE OF WYOMING, OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL, DIVISION OF VICTIM SERVICES AND FREMONT COUNTY ATTORNEY VICTIM WITNESS PROGRAM WAS APPROVED IN THE AMOUNT OF $101,153.00.
  2. GABRIEL MOLER WALL WAS SELECTED AS THE RECIPIENT OF THE RENEWAL COUNTY COMMISSIONER SCHOLARSHIP WHICH IS $500 PER SEMESTER ($1,000 FOR THE ACADEMIC SCHOOL YEAR).
  3. RESOLUTION NO. 2021-15 WAS APPROVED FOR BUDGET TRANSFERS WITHIN FREMONT COUNTY’S FY 2020-2021 BUDGET.
  4. THE PROPOSED PLANNING DEPARTMENT FEE SCHEDULE AND TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT ACCESS ROAD AND EASEMENT FEES WERE APPROVED TO TAKE EFFECT JULY 1, 2021.
  5. A 45-DAY COMMENT PERIOD WILL COMMENCE ON PROPOSED RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF ACCESS DRIVEWAYS AND TURNOUTS TO FREMONT COUNTY ROADWAYS.
  6. THE FY 2021-2022 DUBOIS MAINTENANCE CONTRACT WAS AWARDED TO T-Y EXCAVATION.
  7. A NOTICE TO PROCEED TO 71 CONSTRUCTION WAS APPROVED FOR THE 8-MILE ROAD TRANSVERSE RUMBLE STRIP PROJECT ALONG WITH CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 TO EXTEND THE COMPLETION DATE BY 15 DAYS FOR A REVISED SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION DATE OF JULY 12, 2021.
  8. A NOTICE TO PROCEED TO S & L INDUSTRIAL WAS APPROVED FOR BOTH THE FREMONT COUNTY STRIPING AND DELINEATOR PROJECTS ALONG WITH AGREEMENTS BETWEEN OWNER AND CONTRACTOR FOR CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS.
  9. MICHAEL ZIRBEL WAS RE-APPOINTED TO A THREE YEAR TERM ON THE FREMONT COUNTY MUSEUM BOARD ALONG WITH NEW APPLICANT JOANNA KAIL.
  10. FIVE INCUMBENTS WERE RE-APPOINTED TO THREE YEAR TERMS ON THE FREMONT COUNTY RECREATION COMMISSION: ROBERT SCHEIDEMANTEL (RIVERTON); KRISTEN RESSLER (RIVERTON); WALT GEIS (AT LARGE); ANDREA DOCKERY (AT LARGE) AND DON REYNOLDS (LANDER).
  11. KATHY BLAIR WAS SELECTED TO FILL A TWO YEAR VACATED TERM ON THE FREMONT COUNTY HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION.
  12. THE FY 2021-2022 PRIORITIZED CAPITAL REVOLVING REQUEST LIST WAS APPROVED TOTALING $950,899.
