New Wyoming Custom Meats owner looking to expand retail side

Glenrock resident Billy Brenton purchased Wyoming Custom Meats in Hudson in mid-October and is planning to expand the retail offerings into more of a “grocery store type place,” he shared during the November 24th Fremont County Commissioners’ meeting.

Named after Brenton’s father, Frank’s Butcher Shop was approved for a liquor license at the meeting. They plan to sell packaged liquor in this increased retail side which will be at the current location of Wyoming Custom Meats.

In addition, they are transitioning from a state-inspected plant to a USDA inspected plant in the coming months. This will also increase their “kill days” which most plants in Wyoming are booked several months, if not years out.

Our friends over at Oil City News shared information in August that a Frank’s Butcher Shop & Liquor plans to open in Casper next month.

County 10 will keep you up-to-date as Wyoming Custom Meats transitions and expands in the coming months.
