Name of driver, further information on fatal Lander wreck released by WHP

(Lander, WY) – The Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) has released a preliminary report concerning the fatal wreck that occurred in Lander Monday night.

The deceased has been identified as 52-year-old Wyoming resident Robert Coulston.

According to the report, Coulston was traveling south on Main Street in Lander, when he failed to negotiate a right-hand bend in the road.


The vehicle crossed the oncoming lanes of travel before driving up onto the sidewalk.

The vehicle then crossed the driveway approach and struck the concrete base of a sign, and came to an abrupt stop.

Coulston was unrestrained and succumbed to his injuries on the scene.

Speed and driver fatigue are being looked into as possible contributing factors, and the report indicates no seatbelt was in use.
