NABC announces the passing of a Tribal Member due to COVID-19

The Northern Arapaho Tribe shared today, November 14th, that they regret to announce that one of their Members has passed due to COVID-19.

The individual, an adult male, was undergoing treatment for the virus at a hospital in Denver, according to the announcement. His name is not being released out of respect for his family’s privacy.

Chairman Lee Spoonhunter of the Northern Arapaho Business Council said the loss of every Arapaho Member is deeply felt by the entire community. This week has been particularly difficult, with 3 Members succumbing to COVID-19.

“The Arapaho people are close-knit, and the loss of any Member affects all of us,” Chairman Spoonhunter said. “May our Creator bring peace and comfort to the loved ones left behind, and may all of us take this opportunity to redouble our efforts against this virus. If we as individuals and collectively as Arapaho people don’t slow this outbreak, I am gravely concerned about what the next two months will bring.”
