Two separate fires consuming several acres of grass were reported on the 1000 block of Blue Sky Highway between 5:30 – 5:50 pm on Saturday, July 25th.
County 10 was able to confirm today, July 27th, with Fremont County Fire Protection District Deputy Chief Dan Oakley that the cause is under investigation with BIA Forestry and Fire Management.
Along with the two reported, a few other smaller fires along the highway were put out by responding firefighters as they headed to the 1000 block.
Multiple battalions spanning from Lander Rural Fire to Pavillion, and everyone in-between responded to assist in putting out the fires, Oakley shared.
County 10 has reached out to BIA Forestry and Fire Management but has not heard back at this time. We will share an update if more information is released.
