    Multiple crashes and winter conditions shut down large stretches of Interstate 80 in Wyoming

    The Wyoming Department of Transportation has closed multiple sections of southern Wyoming highways due to weather conditions, or because of crashes, as of Friday morning.

    The photo above shows a wreck involving multiple vehicles near mile post 331, between Cheyenne and Laramie. WYDOT closed the road around 8:00 a.m. on January 31st after that crash occurred. WYDOT’s Cody Beers explained the crash resulted in multiple injuries.

    Interstate 80 between Rock Springs and Rawlins is also closed eastbound due to winter conditions.

    US 287 between Lamont and Muddy Gap as well as Rawlins to Mile Marker 23 have also been closed. WYDOT’s estimates at least 14-16 hours before opening, as of Friday morning.
