    Monte Richardson takes oath of office as Lander’s new Mayor Thursday night; New City Council members also sworn in [Video]

    The City of Lander has a new mayor, as Monte Richardson was sworn in Thursday night at a special City Hall meeting.

    Richardson takes over the mayoral duties after Del McOmie announced he was stepping down from the position. In the November General Election, Richardson defeated challenger Andy Gramlich by a vote count of 1,627 votes to 1,332.

    McOmie presented Richardson with the oath Thursday night in front of one of the council’s larger audiences in recent memory.

    Two new Lander City Council members were also sworn into office John Larsen takes over in Ward 1 and Chris Hulme in Ward 3. Missy White was also recognized as a new addition in Ward 2, however, she had already taken over the council spot after it was vacant in late 2018.
