    Missing Fremont County man’s truck located; Jose Pereda still not found

    Fremont County man, Jose “Pepe” Pereda has been missing since Wednesday, September 5th. The Fremont County Sheriff’s office has released a statement about their search efforts:

    Pereda’s 2002 Toyota Truck was located during an aerial search Wednesday afternoon about 10 miles east of Riverton in a remote area of the Wind River Indian Reservation, Pereda was not with the vehicle. “The Toyota was stuck in a large washout along a Pipeline Road”, said Fremont County Undersheriff Ryan Lee, “The vehicle was located by an aircraft associated with the Civil Air Patrol out of Powell”.

    Fremont County Search and Rescue Personnel from Riverton, Lander and Dubois, as well as surrounding counties have been engaged in a ground search for the missing man since Wednesday afternoon.

    Patrol Unit, will be covering additional grids within the search area.

    The search is a joint operation between the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, Wind River Police Department, and Tribal Game and Fish authorities.

    Jose’s family has recently offered a $5,000 reward for any information leading to his whereabouts.
