Milk prices going up in the Riverton schools

(Riverton, Wyo.) – The price for a carton of milk in Fremont County School District #25 in Riverton is going up. Superintendent Terry Snyder asked the school board Tuesday night for a five cent hike in the price of the half-pint cartons, from 45¢ to 50¢. The board approved the request. Meadow Gold is the supplier of milk to the district.

The Riverton schools annually serve over 800,000 half-pints (8 ounces one-percent)  and over 200,000 half-pints of chocolate milk in the district’s nutrition program. The chocolate milk is reserved as a special treat one day a week. Together, that’s a bit over 1-million cartons of milk.
