Meet Dr. Marc Olsen of Olsen Orthodontics

When asked what made him want to become an orthodontist, Dr. Marc Olsen answered, “My dad was an orthodontist and I was always an integral part of his practice. During high school and college, I made his retainers for him. I just enjoy working with young people and making them smile. Orthodontics really is the happiest specialty in dentistry!”

Dr. Olsen’s commitment to providing the highest quality of service to his patients began with receiving the best education possible. Dr. Olsen completed his undergraduate education at the University of Utah and continued on to the University of Iowa where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He received his Orthodontic Certificate at Indiana University.

Dr. Olsen has been a practicing Orthodontist since the year 2000 when he started from scratch in Billings, MT. In 2012, Dr. Olsen began commuting and practicing in Lander, WY. In 2020, he sold his Montana practice and moved with his family to Lander.

“The number of miles driving and time away from family was too much, so we decided to increase our quality of life. Lander is mid-way between all of my children which makes it easy to participate more in their lives. We love the good people, smaller town life, and fantastic beauty that surrounds us in Lander,” expressed Dr. Olsen.

Dr. Olsen’s passion for his profession is evident. “I love seeing the confidence a patient gains as they go through their orthodontic journey,” stated Dr. Olsen. “I love learning about how I can be a better orthodontist, especially how to help my patients have a healthy beautiful smile in a simpler way.”

Because the field of orthodontics is constantly changing and improving, continuing education has become an extremely important part of Dr. Olsen’s practice. He has additional training in the use of Invisalign which allows Dr. Olsen to get the same results as he does with braces. Dr. Olsen also attends the yearly Damon Forum and attended the Damon Journey which is an additional year of education on using the specialized Damon System of braces. He is constantly continuing his education with laser seminars, monthly Invisalign training, and advanced imaging seminars. He himself provides continuing education seminars to our local chapters of the American Association of Orthodontists, Dental Hygienists Association, and Dental Assistant Association. Dr. Olsen is also published nationally and internationally in professional publications with over 20 research articles.

I hope my patients can see and feel how much I care.
