(Riverton, WY) – Young entrepreneurs have an opportunity to envision, plan and build their own business this summer as Brett’s Business Builders launches “Sips & Sweets” on Wednesday, May 4th with a presentation tour to Riverton’s 3rd, 4th and 5th graders.
Members of the Brett’s Business Builders Committee will visit Riverton elementary schools with a presentation describing the 2022 “Sips & Sweets” Summer Youth Entrepreneur Program, explaining the BBB Mentee registration process, Mentorship training, as well as distributing “Sips & Sweets” Business packets which will be sent home with the students.
Parents, teachers, youth organizations, junior high and high schoolers, Riverton business owners, and prospective BBB mentors and mentees are invited to find out more at the “Sips & Sweets Start-Up Night” on Wednesday, May 18 from 4:30-6:00 p.m. at the Riverton Middle School Multipurpose Room.
The mission of Brett’s Business Builders is to cultivate the creative spirit in Riverton youth by promoting an enterprising kid-centered/kid-driven program, building strong community connections, and mentorship opportunities. Third, fourth and fifth graders will have the chance for amazing success towards their individual goals throughout the summer.
BBB Mentees will learn how to create a business plan, form a budget, understand pricing and start-up costs, and build and market their “Sips & Sweets” product(s). They will also be made aware of opportunities to set up their business stands at local community events such as the local farmer’s markets, Riverton Happy Days, and the Riverton Rendezvous Balloon Rally.
Several Riverton business owners have stepped forward and expressed interest in assisting in the way of sponsorships or by hosting a BBB Mentee business set up or stand.
The summer program will culminate with the Brett’s Business Builders “Sips & Sweets Celebration” on National Lemonade Day, Saturday, August 20. All BBB Mentees who have participated in the program throughout the summer will set up their stands in Riverton City Park for the entire community to enjoy.
Brett’s Business Builders is the legacy project motivated by the final wishes of the late Brett Watson, whose vision was to inspire and encourage creativity and entrepreneurship in our local youth.
