    Matthew Noseep, age 70, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at the University of Colorado Hospital, Aurora Colorado. He was born January 11, 1949 in Fort Washakie, WY, the son of Harry and Virginia (Grant) Noseep.

    He was raised on the Wind River Indian Reservation where he also resided until he graduated from Fremont County Vocational School in Lander, WY. He went on to further his education at the Haskell Institute, Lawrence KS and Bacone College, Muskogee, OK for business.

    He married Anna Sarnie on August 20, 1969 in Lander, WY.

    He served four terms on the Shoshone Business Council. After serving his terms he was employed as a grant writer for the Eastern Shoshone Tribe. He was instrumental in getting grants for the following departments; COPS grant for the Shoshone and Arapahoe Fish and Game Department as well as the BIA police department for equipment and training, Registered Nurse for home health care, Develop and implement a management plan for grizzly, wolf, and sage grouse, Fort Washakie Fire Station, Trout Creek Water Line, Water Treatment Plan Expansion, and the Shoyo Water Line. He also worked with the Shoshone Business Council in getting the Morning Star Nursing Home in Fort Washakie.

    In his later years, he enjoyed ranching and spending time with his great-granddaughter Keryssa.

    He is survived by his wife, Anna; daughter, Sophia; son, Michael; grandchildren, Amber, Alyssa and Jared; great-grandchildren, Keryssa and JB Noseep; sister, Irenice Noseep; brother, Willard (Terry) Noseep and memebers of the Quiver, Goggles, Redman, Day, Lock, Tidzump, Aoah, St. Clair, Marshall, Davis, Brazzanovich families.

    He was preceded in death by son, Dean Noseep; parents, Harry and Virgina Noseep; sisters, Loella Dixon, Ruth Noseep, Elsie Day; brother, Dansyl, Lenno and Leslie Noseep, Sr; nephew, Wesley “Hoss” Quiver Sr; grandparents, Ozzaddie and Callie Sonnicant-Grant, Matthew and Myrtle Noseep.
