Marjorie Louise (Hayen) Currah, a longtime resident of Shoshoni, passed away July 22, 2019.

She was born August 10, 1925, in Marion, Kansas.

The Hayen family moved to Missouri Valley in 1942, and Marge attended Shoshoni High School. After graduation, Marge and her sisters, Edwina and Maggi, moved to San Diego, California to join the war effort. They all went to work for Consolidated Aircraft, where Marge and her twin sister Maggi became “Rosie Riveters”.

Marge married Bud Currah, a Missouri Valley resident who was in the Navy at the time. After the war, they returned to Wyoming.

The couple lived in Casper for many years. During that time, Marge worked for the Natrona County School Systems in the offices at Paradise Valley Elementary School and Dean Morgan Junior High.

In retirement, the couple traveled and eventually returned to Shoshoni to settle in. Marge dedicated her time and efforts to the Senior Center there.

Marge will be deeply missed by her husband Bud, her sisters Maggi and Alice, her six boys – Mitch, Dan, Roger, Mark, Tom and Dee, and their families.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on September 7, 2019, at the Shoshoni Senior Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Shoshoni Senior Center or the Elders in Need Fund at Morning Star Care Center, Ft. Washakie, Wyoming.
