Man killed Thursday morning in logging accident near Fiddlers Lake
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call Thursday morning about a logging incident near Fiddlers Lake on the Louis Lake Road, in which apparently a tree fell on top of a man.
Deputies and EMS units met a vehicle that was en route toward Lander with the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fremont County Sheriff’s Detective Sergeant Mike Hutchison released a statement to County 10 about the incident.
At around 10:57 am on September 6, 2018, the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office was notified that a Fremont County man had been injured in a logging accident near Fiddlers Lake and was being transported towards Lander. EMS units and FCSO Deputies were dispatched and met with the vehicle transporting the injured man along Sinks Canyon Road. The man was evaluated and pronounced deceased by EMS personnel at the scene. Preliminary findings of the investigation have revealed this to have been a tragic accident in which the man was struck by a falling tree, causing fatal injuries.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office and the Fremont County Coroner’s Office and no further details can be released at this time.
