All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
(Riverton, WY) – A high-speed chase started from Morton Lake, west of Kinnear, around 4:30 PM yesterday, August 25th, and ended on Ethete Road about 15 minutes later.
The chase reached speeds of 100 MPH, according to scanner traffic, as they traveled eastbound on US-26, eventually turning south onto Blue Sky Highway.
The two occupants, 28-year-old Kym Fasthorse, of Ethete and 37-year-old Gayla Washington, of Arapahoe, were eventually stopped and detained.
The two reportedly switched places in the vehicle while they eluded law enforcement.
The vehicle was disabled by Wind River Police Department officers with spike strips in the 800 block of Ethete Road, and both drivers were apprehended.
Fasthorse was arrested for fleeing/attempting to elude, interference with a peace officer bodily injury, and a Fremont County arrest warrant. Washington was arrested for fleeing/attempting to elude and bond violation.
The case remains under investigation and additional charges are pending.
