Lander Valley High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter shared an economic simulation they created with Baldwin Creek Elementary 5th graders. This simulation, titled ‘American Enterprise,’ gave 5th graders hands-on experience in learning how to budget money and write a check.

“In the 5th-grade curriculum, they previously learned about economics, so we wanted to expand on this topic in a way that they could learn hands-on,” shared LVHS junior Skyler Woodruff. “This simulation was to display that we live in a free enterprise country. This means that as Americans can buy and sell goods as we would like, we can own our own businesses, stores can sell the same product, and we as consumers can choose where we would like to buy our products form.”

LVHS students Skyler Woodruff, L’anza White, and Aspen Thomas spearheaded this two-day event earlier this week that helped 175 students learn more about economics.
