Lander Valley High School football fans will have an opportunity to donate funds to those affected by cancer tonight at the Tiger’s final regular season home game.
A “pink gate” will be set up, appropriately painted pink, for fans to enter through if they wish to make a donation.
Lander Valley High School Athletics Director Serol Stauffenberg said, “Lander generally does not charge a gate fee to spectators coming to watch games. Periodically, we pick a contest where we display a painted pink gate to spectators indicating that we are accepting donations in lieu of a gate fee that night. Any amount is accepted and we will announce at the contest how much money was raised.”
Stauffenberg says the plan is to continue the tradition for the rest of the sports season and subsequent years.
Lander’s varsity contest Friday night kicks off at 6:00 p.m. against Worland.
A handful of football schedules had tonight’s game as a 7:00 p.m. contest, but it is indeed at 6:00 p.m. at Bill Bush Stadium.
