    Location set for community violence and safety event

    The location is now set for this month’s public discussion about community violence and safety in Fremont County.

    The public is invited to the event, which will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at the Chiefs Technical Center at Wyoming Indian Schools, 636 Blue Sky Highway in Ethete.

    The presentations and discussions will take place 6:30-8:30 p.m.

    Presenters include:

    -Wyoming Rep. Karlee Provenza, D-Laramie, who will discuss her community’s response to the law enforcement shooting of Robbie Ramirez in 2018

    -Rosa Salamanca, with the U.S. Department of Justice Community Relations Services, who will offer resources

    -Steven Carpenter, an Indigenous organizer with the event sponsor Riverton Peace Mission, who will offer opportunities

    Organizers said there will be opportunities for everybody in attendance to “share your views and concerns.”
