(Fremont County, WY) – Fremont County woman Cody Brister, 35, pled guilty to two counts at her Tuesday, February 15th arraignment hearing, overseen by the Honorable Judge Marvin Tyler.
Brister was initially charged with a theft felony, a fleeing or attempting to elude police officers misdemeanor, and a reckless driving misdemeanor, for a reported incident occurring on January 10th, 2022.
Brister faced these charges after reportedly taking a vehicle from a Riverton residence without the owner’s knowledge or approval, then attempting to elude officers.
Brister stated during the arraignment that she “planned on parking it back where I found it,” and didn’t immediately stop for the pursuing officer because she wanted to get the vehicle “back to where I took it from.”
As per the plea agreement, the reckless driving misdemeanor was dropped, and Brister may also see a reduced sentence upon completion of an in-treatment program.
Judge Tyler stated he will make the final conviction decision upon review of the pre-sentence investigation report.
