Local Special Olympics athlete nominated for statewide award

Riverton resident Luke Bappe was one of five Special Olympics athletes from across Wyoming who was nominated for the 2020 Most Inspirational Athlete Award.

Luke was selected as the Area I nominee which covers Park, Fremont, Hot Springs, Big Horn, and Washakie counties. Check out Luke’s nomination below.

Wyoming has five Special Olympics Areas and only one athlete from across the state is selected as the winner of the Most Inspirational Athlete Award.


This year’s award ceremony was held virtually on November 4th, and Douglas Schools’ Caitlyn Pike from Area V earned the 2020 title.
