Local, neighboring medical providers share letter on face mask use

County 10 received a letter signed by over 70 local and neighboring medical providers asking community members to wear masks in public when social distancing of 6′ is not possible, as well as practicing frequent hand washing, and to stay home when sick.

The letter also recognizes the hardships caused in Fremont County, and across Wyoming, when schools and businesses were shut down earlier this year.

“Let’s keep up the good fight and do all we can to keep our schools and businesses open, to minimize what will surely be a challenging winter as we face the flu and cold season while at the same time fighting Covid-19,” the letter states.

Citing the CDC in the letter, the medical providers share the proper way to wear a face mask, in addition to proper removal and sanitization recommendations.

They also say “there is a great deal of misinformation [about face mask use] circulating on the internet and in social media” and that “there is an abundance of solid scientific evidence that shows that mask wearing decreases the transmission of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes the Covid-19 illness.”
