Live music, car show and more in Shoshoni on September 4th

(Shoshoni, WY) – September is right around the corner so mark your calendars and head to Shoshoni on the 4th for a day of activities and live music.

Car show, games, bouncy house, dunk tank, and more are planned from 11 am to 6 pm and then from 8 pm to 1 am you can jam out to Wyoming rocker band, Full Blown Mosey.

This marks the second event organized by the newly formed Shoshoni Hot Summer Nights group which was founded by Shoshoni residents Jordan Whitener and Chris Konija as a way to create events for the community to enjoy, highlight what the town has to offer and inspire others to do the same.

Their first event on July 24th featured Casper acoustic artist Shauna Whitaker and over 70 folks, not including kiddos, attended the evening of live music at the new Shoshoni Town Plaza.

This would not have been possible without the town’s investment in the community by building the park which created the venue, Chris shared with County 10.

The two of them paid for the inaugural event out-of-pocket which they gladly did to get the momentum going and had planned to do so for this next one as well.

With all of the positivity of the first event, every Shoshoni business made at least $100 donation to help cover the blowout event, according to the two of them.

They also shared that the vendors who set up at the park that evening and neighboring businesses benefited greatly by having a regular stream of customers. Some even mentioned they made more in that one night than they do on any other given day.

For the September 4th event, they are planning to have drivers make sure people in Shoshoni get home safely. And are trying to find a way to provide rides to and from Riverton.

Volunteers would also be appreciated, they said. If you would like to help out, participate or if you have questions about this upcoming event or future events, you are encouraged to email [email protected].

They have big plans to ramp up Shoshoni Hot Summer Nights during summer 2022. Not only in the number of events but by having more than just music; they tossed around ideas like an outdoor movie among others.

Jordan is currently auctioning off four of his season tickets for a drawing to the season opener of UW vs. Montana State. The game is on September 4th, 2021 at 2 pm. Money from this will go toward future Shoshoni Hot Summer Nights events. The auction is happening on Facebook here.
