#Littles of Last Year by SageWest Health Care

During 2018, SageWest Health Care had the great joy and pleasure of bringing 408 babies into the world. Of those 408 births, 55% (223) were boys and 45% (185) were girls. 8 sets of twins were born. That’s an average of 1.1 births per day, from across the county.

SageWest Health Care is also proud to report that in 2018, 86% of mothers were successful at breastfeeding and the first time c-section rate was at an all-time low of 8%.

“With each of these deliveries, our Women’s Health Unit worked ’round the clock to provide a safe environment and exceptional patient experience,” explained Chase Ommen, Certified Nurse Midwife.

The hallmarks of that patient experience include personalized health services, patiently waiting for the arrival of baby, and encouraging skin-to-skin contact between mother and child after each birth.

The Women’s Health Unit offers sensitive, personalized health services to each woman, baby, and family. The SageWest Women’s Health providers include:

    • Jeff Anderson, D.O. Obstetrician/Gynecologist at Lander Medical Clinic/Western Family Care
    • Thomas Dunaway, M.D. Obstetrician/Gynecologist at Lander Women’s Care

    • Jan Siebersma, M.D. Obstetrician/Gynecologist at Lander Medical Clinic/Western Family Care
