LIFT committee now accepting grant fund applications for Lander businesses, organizations

(Lander, WY) – The Lander Investment For Tomorrow (LIFT), a committee of the Lander Economic Development Association (LEDA) as authorized by the City of Lander, is now accepting applications for grant funds.

These funds were made available through the 1/2 cent sales tax approved by Fremont County voters in August, 2020.

It is estimated that this will provide up to $500,000 per year for Lander economic development projects.

The LIFT committee defines economic development as any project that retains or increases employment and/or results in a net gain of money into the community.

Awards can be used for matching funds for state or federal grants, or to provide assistance to Lander businesses or organizations for any projects that have economic development merit.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for the Lander community, and the application process is fairly streamlined” states Andy Gramlich, chair of the LIFT committee.

Grants will be awarded quarterly as long as the 1⁄2 cent tax is in place. The deadline for submission for the first round of grants is November 1, 2021.
