LeBrun announces promotions in County Attorney’s Office

(Lander, Wyo.) – With the presumed election of current Chief Deputy Attorney Tom Majdic, who is running unopposed for the County Treasurer’s office on November 6th, Fremont County and Prosecuting Attorney Patrick LeBrun announced plans today to replace his Chief Deputy once the election is finalized.

LeBrun asked the county commissioners permission to go in-house for the replacement by elevating Tim Hancock of his Riverton office to the Chief Deputy Attorney’s position. The salary for that position is $77,000. LeBrun indicated that he is “likely” to promote other lawyers in his office to the other soon-to-be-open positions resulting from Hancock’s promotion. He also sought permission to bring in an entry level staff attorney at a salary of $61,200.

“These are not new positions, but filling existing positions,” he explained. “Since I’ve taken office, we now have one less lawyer and two less secretaries and we seem to be doing just fine.”

In one vote, the commissioners approved Hancock’s promotion and other in-house moves as LeBrun sees fit.
