Leadership Fremont County Class of 2017 Invites the Community to an Extravaganza
The Leadership Fremont County class of 2017 invites everyone to a completely free Community Extravaganza on Tuesday, April 25 from 6-7:30. Location has been moved to Riverton Middle School at 840 Major Ave in the gymnasium due to the rain! Same date and time. There will be bounce houses, food, drinks, and games for the kids!
Leadership Fremont County has organized this community project for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Fremont County. Big Brothers Big Sisters is an organization that provides children with a strong and enduring one-on-one relationship with a mentor. Big Brothers Big Sisters mission is to help all children achieve success. The community is invited to attend the Extravaganza on Tuesday, April 25 from 6-7:30pm at Central Wyoming College in front of the Tribal Center.
Leadership Fremont County was founded in 2003 by representatives from Riverton, Lander, Dubois, and the Wind River Indian Reservation. These community leaders developed a course that would gather current and future leaders in the Fremont County. These leaders learn to expand and actively engage their leadership skills. Over a period of 9 months, participants work on leadership skills, decision-making, strategic planning, and coalition-building. They also discuss and learn about area history, economic development, social-economic issues, tourism, education, and tribal history and relations.
The ultimate learning objectives for the Leadership Fremont County program are as follows:
- Understand industry leaders for public, private, and non profit sectors in our local economy.
- Enhance networking skills and develop relationship within the community.
- Identify, define, development and demonstrate leadership skills.
- Understand emergent issues, identify opportunities, and purse solutions.
