(Lander, WY) – It’s been a busy start to 2021 for the Lander Art Center, to say the least. While moving into their new home at 258 Main Street they also opened their 41st annual Red Desert Audubon Show in the new space.
The move has been in the works since the beginning of November, shared LAC Executive Director Doug Spriggs, who has been in this role since October.
“Our board of directors and staff had been diligently working to keep LAC moving forward and serving the community when the opportunity to move to a larger space presented itself. The larger space offered the opportunity to grow and serve both artists and our educational programming in a manner that was consistent with our mission and vision.”
The LAC’s educational programs and open studio opportunities are now housed under one roof. In turn, creating more opportunities for both art education and all artists to utilize the resources at LAC for growth.
“The Lander Art Center has been a great resource for the Fremont County community and I am humbled to be a part of the next steps of growth here at LAC,” Doug noted. “We look forward to seeing the faces of the people, new and old, and learning how we can better serve our community and continue to be such a valuable asset to the community.”
The 41st annual Red Desert Audubon Show is happening now through March 6th. You can find more info on events and classes on the LAC website here.
