    Lander Valley turns slow start into 1-0

    (Green River, WY) – The Tigers from Lander Valley High School made the trip to Green River to begin the 2022 season. Although Lander had bus issues on the way, the Tigers arrived on schedule and were calm and composed, playing their way to a 44-16 victory over the Wolves.

    Lander would get on the board first in quarter one after a touchdown completion from senior Quarterback Brenon Stauffenberg to Gabe Harris. Green River would answer on a Jaxxson Gomez 34 yard touchdown run.

    The Tigers would take over in the second quarter with a nine ynine-yardard rushing touchdown by Jack Pasquinelli. That would be followed by a 14 ya14-yardrd touchdown pass from Stauffenberg to Harris. The two would connect again from 29 yards out to put Lander up 28-8 at Half.

    The second half began with a 19 yard touchdown run by Brenon Stauffenberg to put the Tigers up by 27. Later in the third quarter, the Tigers would take advantage of a turnover by the Wolves and finish a scoring drive off on a one yard quarterback sneak from Stauffenberg.

    Matisse Weaver would finish the scoring off for the Tigers in the fourth quarter with a 40-yard field goal. Green River would grab one more score from 19 yards out with a touchdown pass from Kael Knezovich to Axel Mackinnon.

    The Tigers start the season 1-0 and will to take on the Powell Panthers who are 1-1 on the season. Tune in live on KOVE 1330 A.M., 107.7 F.M., and streaming online on our County 10 YouTube and Facebook pages. Pregame will begin at 6:30 with Kickoff set for 7 p.m.
