    Lander Valley High School’s Demi Stauffenberg receives the Bob Carey Memorial Award

    (Fremont County, WY) – At the state 3A/4A basketball tournament in Casper this weekend, Lander Valley High School student and Lady Tiger basketball player, Demi Stauffenberg, received the Bob Carey Memorial Award.

    Bob Carey was a former coach for Lander Valley High School who had success as a basketball coach and help establish high school girls basketball.

    The award is given to one female athlete in classes 1A/2A and one athlete in 3A/4A. The award recognizes athletes for their work in school, sports, and community service. Stauffenberg was present the award during halftime of a semi-final game by the Wyoming Coaches Association.

    Head coach for the Lady Tigers Serol Stauffenberg says, “It is a prestige award. It is a neat award and more special because we play in the Bob Carey Memorial Fieldhouse where he started his legendary coaching career. I’m very proud of Demi on this award.”
