Lander swimmer named honoree for USA TODAY High School Sports Awards

(Lander, WY) – Lander Valley High School student-athlete Jonny Kulow continues to make waves in the pool across the country as he was just nominated for the inaugural USA Today High School Sports Awards in the Boys Swimming & Diving category.

This nomination announcement from USA Today was released on July 16th and states that “winners from each state in 27 sports will be featured in the first USA TODAY High School Sports Awards, presented by U.S. Polo Assn.” The show is scheduled for 8 pm EDT on August 5th and will have several national sports stars in attendance.

You may also recall in June, Jonny set his personal best of 23.06 seconds in the Men’s 50m Freestyle at the U.S. Olympics Swimming Team Trials.

He begins his senior year at LVHS in the fall and will be back in the pool with the Tigers for hopefully a 26th consecutive state title before heading off to swim for Arizona State.
